Jay-Z confirms he's parting ways with Def Jam Records
The rap star leaves label where he once served as president

By NME LA

Jay-Z has confirmed rumours that he has left Def Jam, the record label where he once served as president.

The rap star told RapRadar.com that he and the label are indeed parting ways after "a unique and fulfilling experience", and he thanked label executives for his time there.

During his tenure at Def Jam, Jay-Z signed artists including Rihanna and Ne Yo. He remained with the label after stepping down as president last year, and struck a deal with Live Nation that included touring, publishing and albums, reports the Associated Press.
